Colossians 1:13 (NIV)
“… he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves…”
Whether you feel like it or you don’t feel like it, this scripture holds true if you have surrendered your life to Jesus Christ. You have been
literally delivered from the control of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son. The devil does not have a right to hold you
and me oppressed anymore, because we are now in the Kingdom of God’s Son. You and I have been delivered from the old nasty task master – Satan –
and translated to serve a loving Lord and Savior – Jesus Christ. You and I have been delivered from sin, sickness, poverty, fear, anxiety, doubts
and every other manifestation of darkness. We have been rescued!
Our union with Yahushua HaMassiach and the fact that we are members of His body make this even more true in our lives. Galatians 3:26-27 indicates that
we have been baptized into Christ Jesus. This indicates that we have been immersed into Christ. Therefore, wherever Christ is seated, that is where we
are seated as well. We live, move and have our being inside Christ Jesus (Acts 17:28). Now, because Christ Jesus has been exalted far above principalities
and powers, and we are in Him, we have been far exalted above principalities and powers as well.
We have been made to sit together with Christ Jesus in the heavenly realms far above principalities and powers (Ephesians 1:13, 20-23). Christ Jesus is
our head and we are His body. Because the head is seated at the right hand of God the Father far above the dominion of the devil and darkness, we as Christ’s
body are seated at the right hand of the Father, too. This is how God sees us and we need to see ourselves this way. We have a position of authority in Christ
Jesus far above everything the devil has to offer.
To validate this exalted position of authority, Jesus states that all authority in heaven and earth has been given to Him after His resurrection from the
dead (Matthew 28:18-19). He subsequently transferred this authority to us (His Church) by commissioning us to preach the gospel and make disciples of all
nations. Mark’s account of this same commission states that signs and wonders will follow those who believe in Jesus in Mark 16:15-18. All the saints of
God have this authority and this place of exaltation, and if you have been born again, you are a saint of God. You are a king and priest in Christ Jesus.
You have authority over the devil and every form of darkness. See yourself through this lens of God’s authority invested in you through Christ Jesus and
