“My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”
We must understand that the devil is defeateable because he is outnumbered. Although he swung some of God`s angels down with him in his
rebellion against God, he still has the majority of the angels to contend with. Majority of these angels are still on God’s side. Hence, ordinarily
against every demon, there are at least two angels of God. And because our God is progressive, over time He would have created more angels to replace
the numbers that rebelled against Him. This truth is further confirmed when Jesus said; “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too
am working.” (John 5:17).
We also know that the devil is not just outnumbered, but he has been weakened overtime because he has depreciated in the life of God. God is obligated
to give life (Zoe) to everything for sustenance (1Tim 6:13); but the devil doesn’t have access to this again. Because of his rebellion, God has kept him
(Satan with his cohorts) in darkness and gloom for the Day of Judgment (2Pt 2:4). The decay process has caught up with him, since the Bible says he that
soweth to the flesh, will reap corruption (Gal 6:8) and the same punishment given to man is given to angels as well (Jude 5-7).
Since the devil has all these limitations to contend with, he knows that he can be easily overpowered by his enemies (Saints of God). Strength for strength,
number for number, he cannot overpower the saints of God. So what he does leverage is DECEPTION. He bluffs out more than what he can do, in an attempt to
intimidate the saints of God and usurp authority over them and, if possible, use the saints of God to destroy themselves.
But we give glory to God who gives us understanding. We now disbelieve all the loud boasts of the enemy, knowing fully well that he does not have enough
power to accomplish his purposes in the earth; for Jesus has said that the gates of hell shall not prevail against my church (Matt 16:18) and the Word of
God cannot go away unfulfilled (Matt 5:18). So, we need to arm ourselves with this understanding and not permit fear, unbelief and the devil’s spoofs to
ruin our lives and render our faith helpless.
The devil is outnumbered and we can over-power him!
